Equity, diversity, inclusion & belonging
Equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDI&B) is a strategic priority at Georgian. We’re committed to fostering a learning and working environment where everyone feels seen, heard and knows they belong through demonstrable, accountable and system-wide commitments to diversity, de-colonization, anti-racism, equity and inclusion.
EDI&B in action

Celebrating Black History Month
Feb. 1 marks the start of Black History Month. Many of the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians have been excluded from our national narrative and this is an opportunity to acknowledge, value and celebrate them. It’s also a chance to become true allies. Learn more about the ways you can celebrate Black History Month at Georgian.

We welcome our new EDI&B managers!
We are thrilled to announce three new employees joining the team as EDI&B managers: Lisa Harripersad, Debbie Opoku Mulder and Gowtham Vijayakumaran. These talented EDI&B practitioners will help us develop our EDI&B training and policy review processes and provide navigation support, particularly to marginalized students and employees.

National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
Sept. 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to reflect on and commemorate the painful legacy of Canada’s residential schools. Several events are planned across all campuses leading up to Sept. 30. Learn more about Indigenous Services at Georgian College and see events and activities in our campus communities.
