We’re in the process of changing registration systems and as such, registration for courses beginning this summer is currently on hold.

MARI 0255 will run from July 5 to 20, with online classes July 5 to 8 and in-person classes July 11 to 16 at the Owen Sound Campus. The in-person Transport Canada examination will take place July 17 to 20. The course fee is $2,950.

Please submit our online form to reserve your seat (availability permitting). The Centre for Marine Training and Research (CMTR) will follow up with you directly to confirm your seat and provide the steps to register and submit payment.

Please note, students registering into this course must have access to a computer with an operating system of Windows 10 or higher.

This course is designed to provide knowledge of corrective actions to be taken when recognizing and problem-solving the signs and symptoms of deteriorating function of ships’ machinery. Prerequisites: CDN#, STCW endorsed 4th Class Engineer Certificate of Competency at minimum. While holding at the minimum a Certificate of Competency at the 4th class Engineer level, an applicant must have completed a minimum of 6 months of sea service as an engineer in charge of an engineering watch or in charge of the machinery, onboard a vessel of at least 750 KW.
