July 4 to 8; online classes July 4 to 5, with in-person classes July 8 at the Owen Sound Campus

The Centre for Marine Training and Research (CMTR) will follow up with you directly to confirm your seat and provide the steps to register and submit payment.

The first two days of this course is online and the third day is on campus. This course is intended for mariners serving on compulsorily-fitted commercial ships within the North American A1 sea areas. It is compliant with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended in the 1995 (STCW 95 Regulation IV/2). The material presented in this course covers the scope of the examination for the Restricted Operator’s Certificate – Maritime Commercial (ROC-MC) for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). Prerequisite: Minimum 18 years of age.
