We’re in the process of changing registration systems and as such, registration for courses beginning this summer is currently on hold.

MARI 0248 will run from June 4 to 9, with online classes June 4 to 5 and in-person classes June 7 to 9 at the Owen Sound Campus. The course fee is $1,800.

Please submit our online form to reserve your seat (availability permitting). The Centre for Marine Training and Research (CMTR) will follow up with you directly to confirm your seat and provide the steps to register and submit payment.

This blended online theory with onsite practical course is a requirement for seafarers under the Standards of Training, Certification of Watchkeepers (STCW) convention of the International Maritime Organization. This course is intended for officers and crew designated to control firefighting operations on large domestic vessels. Advanced firefighting tactics and leadership skills are developed through live firefighting exercises, lectures and hands-on demonstrations by experienced ship’s officers and fire fighters. Prerequisites: Minimum 16 years of age, STCW Basic Safety or equivalent, Marine Medical Fitness Report
