The Centre for Marine Training and Research (CMTR) will follow up with you directly to confirm your seat and provide the steps to register and submit payment.

This blended online theory with on-site practical course meets the requirements of the Standards of Training, Certification of Watchkeepers (STCW) Convention Regulation VI/1 and STCW Code Tables A-VI/1-1 (personal survival techniques), A-VI/1-2 (fire prevention and firefighting) and A-VI/1-4 (personal safety and social responsibilities). Participants acquire knowledge, understanding and proficiency in shipboard emergency procedures and response, lifesaving appliances, rescue and survival, lifeboats and life rafts, shipboard firefighting, firefighting equipment, pollution prevention and effective shipboard communication. Prerequisites: valid medical certificate or a Georgian College Medical Fitness Report, Marine Basic First Aid (Elementary First Aid, STCW A-VI/1-3) or Marine Advanced First Aid (Medical First Aid, STCW A-VI/4-1), minimum 16 years of age. Applicants who hold non-Canadian certificates must submit to the college a letter from Transport Canada verifying their Canadian equivalents.
