Remembrance Day ceremonies

Poppies in a field during sunsetEvery day, Georgian remembers. Remembrance Day is an opportunity to pause and remember the bravery, courage and ultimate sacrifice others have made for our freedom.

Georgian will host ceremonies at the following campuses:

  • Barrie: Meet at the Georgian Cenotaph* around 10:30 a.m. Ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m.
  • Owen Sound: Ceremony will begin at 10:55 a.m.
  • Orillia: Meet at the Cenotaph. Ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m.

All students, employees and community members are welcome to attend.

Students and employees in Midland, Muskoka, South Georgian Bay and Orangeville can attend ceremonies in the community. Those at the downtown Barrie location are encouraged to come to the Barrie Campus or ceremony at the City of Barrie Cenotaph.

The Barrie Campus ceremony will also be livestreamed on Instagram; tune in at approx. 10:50 a.m. Go to Instagram.com/georgiancollege.

If you’re unable to attend a ceremony, you’re encouraged to pause for two minutes at 11 a.m.

*City of Barrie buses entering the college from Georgian Drive will be re-routed that morning to a temporary stop on the south side of Georgian Drive, just past Governor’s Drive. See a campus map.
